Eastern culture is different on many points and they do put a lot of emphasis on religion. It is the basis for their society's structure and their behavior. Osama is a religious fanatic, he takes the Muslim religion to its extreme and this is recognized by other Muslims: They Support Him. He is fighting a war that, by Muslim religion, is completely justified. This is the basis of a "Holy War". Both sides have fundamentally different beliefs which collide with each other and both sides think they are right and the other is wrong. They will die for their cause, as has been seen in the suicide attacks. Read this interview with Osama, it will show you his reasons for his actions, which will support what I am saying here. The above article will demonstrate what holy war is all about. It's not as absurd as your simplification of it suggests. It actually makes a lot of sense why it could happen and does happen. We are talking about people's beliefs, why better reason to fight than that?

Come on man, I'm not saying how horrible we are, I am just trying to make sense out of why our country is in the position it is in. We aren't the only one that's working in the Middle East, hell Bin Laden has had terrorits activities in China also.. You should read more.. : Hell even Russia has been in there in the same mess we are about to be in, I know are gov't isn't a nun, but hell we aren't that bad either.
